New Delhi, May 17 (Inditop.com) Delhi Metro chief E. Sreedharan returned to work Monday, more than a month after he suffered a heart attack and was told to rest at home, an official spokesman said.
Sreedharan, 77, received a warm welcome from colleagues as he reached the Delhi Metro Rail Corp (DMRC) office in central Delhi at 9 a.m., the spokesman said.
“He is working according to schedule, like before,” the official added.
Sreedharan was admitted to the Apollo hospital April 7 following a heart attack that led to a bypass surgery.
Sreedharan has headed Delhi Metro since its inception in 1997. The network today transports nearly one million people a day.
