New Delhi, June 23 (IANS) Piped cooking gas supply to some areas in New Delhi was disrupted Wednesday following a pipeline burst near the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.

An official from the Indraprastha Gas Limited told IANS that gas supply to Lodhi Estate, Rajendra Nagar, Bharti Nagar and Jorbagh was disrupted briefly.

‘The supply was disrupted for a couple of hours as the gas pipeline near the gate of the stadium suffered minor breakage due to the Commonwealth Games construction work,’ the official said.

‘The pipeline was repaired within an hour. A little more time was taken to restart service as the safety regulators had to be restarted manually,’ the official said.
