Chennai, Sep 1 (IANS) Ford India registered six percent sales growth in August as compared to figures logged during the like period of 2011.
The Indian subsidiary of US auto major Ford Motor Company in a statement Saturday said it sold 7,840 units in the domestic market, up from 7,382 units sold during corresponding period last year.
“It’s wonderful to see consumer sentiments improving as we approach the festive season, and we are confident we are ready to meet the growing demand for cars during this period,” said Michael Boneham, president and managing director.
Last month, Ford India exported 2,512 units and said total exports were up 18 percent, with 16,847 units shipped since January 2012.
The company did not reveal the export figures for August 2011.
