Patna, June 13 (IANS) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi Sunday claimed that his state has the capacity to light up the entire nation.
In his speech on the last day of the two-day national executive meet, Modi said: ‘The people of my Gujarat don’t know what it is to not have electricity. We have electricity 24×7 in the state and so much that we can light up the entire nation, it is a shame that people of other states face electricity shortages.’
He also said that despite not having year-round supply of water, his state faces no water shortages and the agricultural sector is faring better than other Indian states.
‘We do not have year-round supply of water but my state experiences no issues of water scarcity and agriculture is booming. Our farmers sell their produce in the Chinese markets whereas farmers in other states are struggling,’ he said.
Highlighting other areas of progress in his state, he said education and infrastructure too has made ‘substantial growth’.
