Mumbai, May 3 (Inditop.com) Leading home financier HDFC Monday reported a 26.3 percent increase in net profits at Rs.926.38 crore for the January-March quarter, compared to Rs.733.37 crore in the year-ago period.

The financial major’s total Income, however, decreased to Rs.2,899.3 crore in the quarter from Rs.3,153.61 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.

For 2009-10, the company saw net profit grow 23.8 percent to Rs.2,826.5 crore from Rs.2,282.5 crore in the previous fiscal. Total income during the last fiscal increased to Rs.11,360.8 crore from Rs.11,017.6 crore the year before.

Earnings per share was up to Rs.98.80, as against Rs.80.10 in 2008-09.

The company’s board declared a dividend of Rs.36 per share and to sub-divide the nominal value of the equity shares of the corporation from Rs.10 each to Rs.2 each.

The HDFC scrip closed 0.58 percent lower at Rs.2,805.60 at the Bombay Stock Exchange.
