New Delhi, Jan 5 (Inditop.com) Japanese auto major Honda Motor Tuesday said it would launch a small car, expected to be smaller than its Jazz model, in India next year.
The five-seater family car will be based on the Honda New Small Concept, a concept model for a new small-sized vehicle unveiled at the Auto Expo here Tuesday.
“Honda will strive to introduce a small car with a competitive price at the entry level of the hatchback segment,” said Honda’s executive vice president Koichi Kondo.
According to him, the company will increase its local procurement to ensure competitive pricing for customers.
Kondo also said his company was looking at a price of less than Rs.500,000 for the small car. “It should be less than Rs.5 lakh to be competitive.”
The car will be marketed in Thailand at the same time.
