New Delhi, April 2 (Inditop.com) The fifth Delhi Metro corridor from Inderlok to Mundka, the first standard gauge line in the city, was inaugurated here Friday, and will be thrown open to commuters Saturday.
“The 15.1 km corridor will be open to the public from 6 a.m. We are expecting over one lakh commuters every day on this line,” a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) spokesperson told Inditop.
The time taken to cover this stretch will be approximately 29 minutes, added the DMRC official.
Twenty-one trains will run on the line. During peak hours, the frequency of trains would be 4.5-5 minutes and in other hours it would be 6 minutes.
The line has 14 stations on the way — Inderlok, Ashok Park Main, Punjabi Bagh East, Shivaji Park, Madipur, Paschim Vihar East, Paschim Vihar West, Peera Garhi, Udyog Nagar, Surajmal Stadium, Nangloi, Nangloi Railway station, Rajdhani Park and Mundka.
Urban Development S. Jaipal Reddy and Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated the corridor at a function Friday.
