Kolkata, June 1 (IANS) West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday said investment for the integrated textile development project in the state has soared to Rs.37,000 crore.
“The investment figure for the integrated textile project has gone up to Rs. 37,000 crore from Rs.26,100 crore,” she said here at an interactive seminar, Business Made Easy – The Next Level.
On May 29, she had pegged the investment amount at Rs. 26,100 crore.
The textile project, with the potential to employ over six lakh people in the state, is being developed as a public-private-partnership model and a special purpose vehicle is being created to take it forward.
The development cost of the project is Rs.9,159 crore.
