Mumbai, July 29 (Inditop.com) Jindal Steel and Power Wednesday reported a 25 percent dip in net profit to Rs.300 crore for the first quarter this fiscal as compared to Rs.402.3 crore in the same period last year.
The total income decreased 16 percent to Rs.1,592.6 crore from Rs.1,902.7 crore, the company said in a regulatory statement.
However, the Jindal group’s net profit during the period soared 122 percent to Rs.988.4 crore as against Rs.443.6 crore in the year-ago quarter.
The group’s total income increased 27.7 percent to Rs.2,786.2 crore from Rs.2,180.3 crore.
