Mumbai, April 23 (IANS) Reliance Infrastructure Monday said it has re-designated Lalit Jalan as chief executive officer (CEO) and that he will not be part of the firm’s board.

“With a view to bifurcating te executive responsibilities from the board membership, Lalit Jalan and S.C. Gupta have stepped down from the board. Lalit Jalan has been re-designated as chief executive officer,” the company said in a regulatory filing.
Gupta, who has been working as director, operations, has been designated as chief executive officer, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business.
The Reliance Infra board, which met Monday, also appointed V.K. Chaturvedi, former chairman and managing director of Nuclear Power Corporation of India and former member of Atomic Energy Commission, as non-executive director on the board of the company.
The firm also said that Ravi Kumar, former BHEL chairman and managing director, will shortly join the board as an independent director.
