Hyderabad, July 14 (Inditop.com) The Rs.200-crore book and music retailer Landmark plans to open five to six new stores in various Indian cities this fiscal on an investment of Rs.30 crore.
Announcing the launch of its first store in Hyderabad Tuesday, Landmark chief operating officer Himanshu Chakrawarti said the company planned to expand operations by opening more stores in Mumbai and Chennai.
Landmark, which commenced its operations in 1987 with its first store in Chennai, currently has 10 stores in Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Vadodara, Gurgaon, Pune and Lucknow.
The Hyderabad store in the upmarket Banjara Hills, to be opened July 23, is spread over 30,000 square feet and will introduce a new feature – Photo Land, for which Landmark has tied up with hardware major Hewlett Packard.
“Here, people can walk in, edit pictures on their own and take printouts,” said Chakrawarti.
The store in Hyderabad will also have another new feature – the “Disney experience zone” under a tie-up with Disney.
The store will also have a Gaming Zone for gamers to get hands-on experience before buying gaming devices, as well as a section dedicated to technology called Tech Zone, which will have laptops, printers, external hard disks, high end head phones, MP3 players, ipods, cameras and digital photo frames.
Landmark, a subsidiary of Tata group company Trent Ltd, plans to open another store in Hyderabad this year.
