New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) Now passengers can enjoy delicious mangoes from all over India at the Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) where the Mango Festival started Tuesday.
‘The ten-day festival will feature more than 14 varieties of fresh, high quality mangoes,’ a Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) official said.
According to DIAL, passengers at the domestic terminals and the international terminal will have an opportunity to taste famous Indian varieties such as Kesar, Alphonso, Gelchia and many more.
‘The festival is a tribute to the popularity and the passion with which almost everyone aspires for this delicious king of all fruits,’ the official said.
The travelers will also have an opportunity to know more about the fruit and its farming through informative pamphlets and posters.
‘The information will include the health benefits of mangoes and the innumerable possibilities of using the fruit in different beverages and cuisines,’ DIAL official added.
A wide variety of mango-based products like jams, pickles, fruit juice, candy, aam papad, aamchoor, as well as canned fruit will also be on display all through the festival.
