Kolkata, Sep 2 (IANS) Automobile major Mercedes Benz has posted 40 per cent sales growth during the first eight months of this year in India, a top executive of the company said Friday.
‘The company?s sales grew by 40 per cent during January to August 2011 to 4,890 units compared to 3,495 units during the corresponding period last year,’ Debashis Mitra, Mercedes-Benz India director (sales & marketing), told reporters on the sidelines of the new Mercedes Benz C-class launch here.
Mitra said the company plans to foray into retail leasing from September this year to capture larger market share of the luxury car market in India.
Stating that individual or self leasing will open another channel of marketing for the company, he said: ?Corporate leasing generates 70 percent of corporate sales.’
?Mercedes Benz Financial will carry out the leasing activity,? he added.
