Chennai, July 1 (IANS) The Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto maker Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd closed last month with sales of 1,632 units as against 77 in June 2010.

The company sold 1,609 units of its Micra model and the balance is accounted for by X-Trail, Teana and 370Z models.

According to Nissan Motor India, over 16,688 Micra cars have been sold India since it was launched last July.

‘In addition to innovative new models like the all-new global sedan which will be launched later this year, we are continuing to significantly expand our dealer network, aiming for more than 100 dealerships by 2013,’ said Kiminobu Tokuyama, managing director at Nissan Motor India.
