New Delhi, Feb 2 (IANS) Jet fuel supplies to cash-strapped Air India were halted for three hours by the three state-run oil marketing companies Thursday but resumed following government intervention.

An Air India official told IANS that the supplies were hit from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. because the airline had not paid pending dues, leading to delays in four flights.
The official said the issue was resolved after civil aviation ministry officials contacted the petroleum ministry.
“The petroleum ministry was assured that the dues would be settled in a day or two,” the official said.
The flag carrier was given a 90-day credit period from October 2011 for buying jet fuel as its cash-strapped position did not allow the airline to directly purchase the air turbine fuel (ATF).
