New Delhi, Feb 27 (Inditop.com) Rajan Bharti Mittal, vice chairman and managing director of Bharti Enterprises, Saturday took over as the president of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
Fifty-year-old Mittal took over the charge from Harsh Pati Singhania after the conclusion of FICCI’s 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) which was attended by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.
Singhania is the managing director of JK Paper Ltd. Before taking over as the president of FICCI, Mittal was its senior vice president.
Mittal joined Bharti Enterprises after graduating from Panjab University. An alumnus of Harvard Business School, he is actively involved in overseeing the activities of the group at the corporate level.
Mittal’s Bharti Enterprises has interests in telecom, financial services, retail, manufacturing, realty and agro-business. It also has joint ventures with various multination corporations — AXA for financial services, Del Monte for its agri-business and Wal-Mart for retail and wholesale operations.
