Mumbai, Dec 2 (IANS) India’s leading telecom firm Reliance Communications (RCom), back office leader Genpact and mobile service operator Aircel Thursday bagged the 2010 India Luminary Awards instituted by global security solutions provider Symantec Corporation.
‘The Luminary awards recoginse IT leaders, across locations and sectors, for their innovative use of our products and services to deliver business benefits to their organisations,’ Symantec worldwide sales executive vice-president Bill Robbins said at the company’s technology event here.
RCom won the award for leveraging Symantec’s enterprise security to manage its critical business information and infrastructure, Genpact for enhancing its compliance and regulatory posture and Aircel for installing disaster recovery and business continuity technology.
‘As the future is about people and information and not just devices or platforms, we envision a world that is secure and well managed,’ Robbins said on the occasion.
RCom’s chief information officer Alpna Doshi, Genpact chief technology officer S.V. Ramana and Aircel chief information officer Ravinder Jain were presented the awards at the ‘Symantec Vision 2010’ event.
As RCom’s CIO, Doshi has been able to maximise efficiency, drive down costs and deliver services to its customers effectively.
Similarly, Ramana was successful in saving costs and reducing complexity through the automation of its compliance and governance life cycle. Jain was recognised for building an IT infrastructure that is scalable and available for its users.
