Mumbai, July 21 (Inditop.com) A key index of the Indian equities markets ended trade Tuesday 144 points lower than its previous close.
The 30-scrip benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 15,218.83 points, lost 144.55 points or 0.95 percent to close at 15,046.46 points (provisional).
Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed 0.9 percent lower at 4,461.8 points.
Broader market indices ended mixed, with the BSE midcap index closing 0.36 percent down and the BSE smallcap index ending 0.19 percent higher.
