Mumbai, Feb 19 (Inditop.com) A benchmark index of Indian equities fell further into the red after a weak opening Friday. About 30 minutes into trade, it was 147 points lower than its previous close.

At 9.32 a.m., the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,256.53 points, was at 16,180.76 points, down 147.08 points or 0.9 percent from its previous close.

At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was at 4,837.85 points, against the previous close at 4,887.75 points, a loss of 1.02 percent or 49.9 points.

Broader markets were also in the red with the BSE midcap index down 0.66 percent and the BSE small cap index trading 0.61 percent lower.
