Mumbai, May 20 (Inditop.com) A benchmark index for Indian equities Thursday ended trade with modest gains amid a rebound in Euro zone stocks.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,419.1 points, closed at 16,532.28 points (provisional), 123.79 points or 0.75 percent up from its previous close at 16,408.49 points.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty ended at 4,954.7 points, up 0.71 percent from its previous close.
Broader markets, however, closed in a slump, with the BSE midcap index ending 0.05 percent up and the BSE smallcap index 0.54 percent lower.
