Mumbai, July 20 (Inditop.com) A key index of the Indian equities markets soared in the last session Monday to end trade 421 points higher than its previous close.
The 30-scrip benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, which opened at 14,854.17 points, gained 421.9 points or 2.86 percent to close at 15,166.91 points (provisional).
Similarly, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) closed 2.78 percent higher at 4,496.45 points.
Broader market indices also ended in the positive terrain, with the BSE midcap index closing 2.43 percent up and the BSE smallcap index ending 2.49 percent higher.
