Mumbai, May 12 (Inditop.com) A benchmark index for Indian equities Wednesday was slightly up than its previous close in early trade.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 17,141.53 points, was ruling at 17,162.05 points, 20.52 points or 0.12 percent up from its previous close.
At the National Stock Exchange (NSE), the broader 50-share S&P CNX Nifty was ruling at 5,141.8 points, a gain of 0.11 percent from its previous close.
Broader market indices were doing better with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.56 percent up and the BSE smallcap index trading 0.62 percent higher.
