Mumbai, Sep 24 (Inditop.com) The benchmark index of the Indian stock markets opened in the red Thursday and was down 0.66 percent within five minutes.
The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened at 16,634.08 points, lower than its closing figure of 16,719.50 points Wednesday.
Within the first five minutes it was at 16,609.2 points, 110.3 points or 0.66 percent lower than its previous close.
Around the same time, the broader S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was at 4,927.15 points, 0.86 percent below its previous close at 4,969.95 points.
Broader market indices were in the red as well, with the BSE midcap index 0.62 percent lower and the BSE smallcap index down 0.64 percent.
