Mumbai, March 6 (Inditop) Indian equities markets started trade deep in the red Friday, with a key index ruling 1.68 percent below its last closing figure.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive Index (Sensex) opened at 8,103.75 points, lower than its 8,197.92 point close Thursday. About 10 minutes into trade, it was at 8,059.81 points, 1.68 percent or 138.11 points lower than its previous close.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was at 2,545 points, 1.23 percent down from its last close of 2,576.7.
The BSE midcap index was 1.7 percent lower than its last close, while the BSE smallcap index was down 1.45 percent.
