Mumbai, Sep 9 (Inditop.com) A key index of the Indian equities markets was trading volatile, but in a tightly bound range, about 90 minutes before closing bell Wednesday.

At 2.05 p.m., the 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 16,111.09 points, was trading at 16,142.12 points, up 18.45 points or 0.11 percent higher than Tuesday’s close of 16,123.67 points.

Around the same time, however, the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was ruling at 4,803.25 points, down 0.04 percent.

Broader market indices were also trading in the negative, with the BSE midcap index ruling 0.46 percent lower and the BSE smallcap index down 0.16 percent.
