Kolkata, March 31 (IANS) The South Eastern Railway (SER) posted a 14.41 percent increase in its earnings April 2010-February 2011, which stood at at Rs.9,405.3 crore against Rs.8,222.51 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal, a release said.

According to the release, the SER earned Rs.1,027 crore more than the last financial year from goods traffic and Rs.74.6 crore more from passenger traffic.

The SER also recorded 8.55 per cent rise in passengers carried.

It carried 238.3 million passengers from April 2010 to February 2011 as against 219.5 million passengers carried during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
