Chennai, July 2 (IANS) The Tamil Nadu government would organise a five-day package tour starting July 18 to help pilgrims offer prayers at 108 temples of Goddess Amman in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, a statement said Saturday.

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) package is aimed at giving pilgrims a chance to visit these temples during the Tamil month Aadi, commencing July 17.

The TTDC said the tour would begin from Chennai every Monday and Thursday at 6 a.m. and end at night five days later.

The 108 temples are in Chennai, Kancheepuram, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Thanjavur, Tiruchi, Pudukkottai and Madurai districts of Tamil Nadu and in Puducherry.

The TTDC would charge Rs.3,250 per adult and Rs.2,500 per child, aged between four and 10, for the tour. The rate is inclusive of transport, accommodation and guide services.

The TTDC would also organise a one-day mini tour to nine Amman temples here during the month of Aadi every Tuesday, Friday, Sunday and the full moon day.

This mini tour would start at 7 a.m. and cover Mangadu Kamakshi Amman, Thiruverkadu Karumari Amman, Poonamallee Thaiyal Nayagi, Thirumullaivoil Vaishnavi Amman, Kodiyidai Amman, Chempulivaram Chenkali Amman, Panchatti Anandavalli Amman, Melur Thiruvudai Amman and Thiruvottiyur Vadivudai Amman temples. The charges for this tour would be Rs.250 per person.
