Mumbai, Feb 1 (IANS) Tata Motors on Monday reported a 10 percent rise in its total commercial and passenger vehicle sales during the last month.

According to the company, last month’s total sales stood at 47,034 units, compared to 42,595 units clocked during January 2015.

Domestic sales for last month were higher by seven percent at 41,398 units from 38,634 vehicles sold in January 2015.

Commercial vehicles comprising medium and heavy vehicles registered a sales growth of 20 percent to 30,670 units during the month under review, compared to 25,587 units in sold in the like month of last year.

Sales of light and small commercial vehicles during last month grew by 11 percent to 15,977 units.

However, passenger vehicle sales declined by 18 percent in the analysed period with the sale of 10,728 units, compared to 13,047 units clocked in January 2015.

Similarly, utility vehicles’ sales dropped. It inched-down by two percent to 1,378 units.

Exports increased by 42 percent during the month under review to 5,636 units from 3,961 units shipped-out in January 2015.
