New Delhi, Oct 1 (IANS) Automobile major Tata Motors Monday reported a decline of four percent in its total sales, including exports, for the month of September at 75,773 units.
According to the company, its domestic sales of commercial and passenger vehicles for the month under review declined by three percent at 70,332 units from 72,566 units sold in the same month last year.
However, sales of the company’s entry level Nano last month was up 87 percent at 5,491 units from 2,936 units sold in September last year.
“Sales of Indigo range recorded sales of 3,706 units, lower by 52 percent, over 7,793 units sold in September last year,” the company said in a statement.
“The Sumo, Safari, Aria, Venture range sales were 4,519 units, lower by 15 percent, over 5,308 units sold in September last year,” the statement added.
Commercial vehicles sales in the month under review grew by five percent at 48,680 units from 46,247 units sold in the corresponding period last year.
The company’s sales from exports at 5,441 units in September 2012 are lower by 12 percent compared to 6,217 units in the same month last year.
