Bangalore, Aug 13 (IANS) Telecom product firm Tejas Networks Friday unveiled its leading-edge packet optical carrier to enhance 3G service and broadband wireless access (BWA) backhaul.
‘We are marking our 10th anniversary by launching an enhanced version of our carrier portfolio for 3G and BWA backhaul,’ Tejas chief executive Sanjay Nayak told reporters here at a product preview.
The new carrier will enable operators to migrate from 2G to 3G network, serve voice/data traffic volumes and save costs on network enhancements.
‘For service providers building a new 3G/BWA backhaul network for an all-IP solution, our carrier Ethernet will provide the lowest cost per bit solution,’ Nayak claimed.
As a key enabler of India’s exponential telecom growth, Tejas offers innovative optical networking solutions to operators for providing high quality services to over 500 million subscribers.
‘After contributing significantly to the country’s telecom revolution over a decade, we are providing scalable and future-ready solutions to operators for meeting the challenge of massive growth in data, driven by mobile internet, video and business services,’ Nayak said.
Tejas chairman and co-founder Gururaj Deshpande said the company had evolved as a thought leader, addressing complex needs of telecom operators.
‘We have demonstrated that a product firm based in India can serve the competitive domestic market with leading-edge products relevant to the rest of the world,’ said Deshpande.
Deshpande also expressed confidence that India could produce several product firms like Tejas and establish a $100-billion high-tech industry this decade if right impetus was given by the stakeholders in the ecosystem.
