Lucknow, Sep 4 (Inditop.com) The weatherman’s prediction of heavy rains in Uttar Pradesh for three days beginning Friday has raised hopes among farmers that they can still grow something this kharif season.

India’s most populous state has been suffering a paucity of rainfall this monsoon, with the authorities declaring 58 of the 71 districts drought-hit.

Now Uttar Pradesh’s meteorological department has projected heavy rainfall in many parts of the state on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

“The upper air cyclonic circulation that has developed in the Bay of Bengal in the past couple of days is approaching the low pressure areas, particularly Uttar Pradesh. It is expected to hit the state by today (Friday) evening and move towards Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan,” the weather department’s director J.P. Gupta told Inditop.

The weather front will also hit Bihar and Jharkhand before reaching Uttar Pradesh, Gupta added.
