This was stated to IANS by Abhishek Arun Gupta, joint chairman of the IT cell of the National Chamber of Industries and Commerce in Agra.
Gupta said officials in Lucknow had asked the chamber to secure 100 acres of government land for setting up the IT Park.
“I have had detailed discussions with the principal secretary IT as well as the minister of protocol Abhishek Mishra and the chief secretary. All have assured me that the Agra IT Park project will be taken up immediately after the Lucknow IT project bidding is completed Nov 21,” Gupta said.
Agra’s case for an IT Park has been hanging fire for two decades, after the Supreme Court put a ban on polluting industries in the Taj Trapezium eco-sensitive zone.
Gupta also told IANS that his demand for free access to internet to those who have been gifted laptops had been accepted by the Uttar Pradesh government and “very soon this will be announced”.
