Lucknow, Nov 1 (Inditop.com) Three people were arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Azamgarh district Saturday night and fake currency with the face value of Rs.37,000 recovered from their possession, police said Sunday.
The three, identified as Naresh Sonkar, Jainarayan Shastri and Srikishan Yadav, were going to supply the fake currency to someone when they were arrested.
“They had made similar supplies in the district earlier also and we have got vital clues about those involved in the racket,” Azamgarh range’s Deputy Inspector General of Police K.K. Tripathi told reporters.
The notes are of high quality and the three have confessed to getting them from a criminal on the Nepal border, he added.
“However, we do not have any information about the suppliers of the notes but we hope to make more arrests soon from the districts bordering Nepal,” Tripathi said.
