New Delhi, July 21 (Inditop.com) Gangworld leader Abu Salem Tuesday sought copies of records relating to intercepted extortion calls he allegedly made to two businessmen in the capital seven years ago.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja asked Salem’s counsel to move a comprehensive application for obtaining copies of all relevant documents in the 2002 extortion case and slated the matter for Aug 4.

The prosecution had summoned three witnesses Kishan Kumar, Ravi Kant and sub inspector Ranbir for deposition in the case but the evidence recording process could not be completed after Salem’s counsel asked for call details.

The court also issued a non-bailable warrant against co-accused Ishtiyaq Ahmed, rejecting his application for exemption from appearance on medical ground as it was not annexed with proper documents.

Salem, who was extradited from Portugal in November 2005, and Ahmad are being tried along with C.P. Rai and Sadiq Ali for allegedly making threatening calls to Puneet Khanna and Rajat Nagrath, owner of Delhi-based Allied Communications, demanding Rs.1 lakh/Rs.10 million.
