New Delhi, Aug 1 (Inditop.com) Three motorcycle-borne robbers allegedly waylaid two employees of a leading hospital here Saturday and looted Rs.1.25 million from them after injuring one of them, police said.
The incident comes a day after a businessman was robbed off Rs.1.1 million in a similar manner by a suspected biker gang in Delhi.
According to the police, cashier M.L. Rawat and security guard Suresh Chand of the Batra Hospital were crossing the road near the hospital in south Delhi when they were attacked by the robbers.
They were walking towards a nearby bank branch to deposit hospital money there.
While they were crossing the road, three bikers stopped them. One of them took out a pistol and tried to snatch the bag.
Recounting eyewitnesses’ version, police said the duo was forced to give in to the criminals demand after one of the three bikers fired a shot. The bullet caused a minor scratch on Chand’s hand.
The robbers then snatched the bag and fled.
Last month, two bank employees were robbed of Rs.950,000 by a biker gang in west Delhi.
