Bhopal, Dec 16 (Inditop.com) A two-and-a-half-year-old child who fell into a borewell in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district has been saved after hectic rescue operations lasting more than 13 hours, police said Wednesday.
The incident took place Tuesday in Nandani village.
Ankit Mawada was playing when he slipped into a 180-foot deep uncovered borewell around noon. Rescue operations to save the child started soon after the administration heard the news, district collector Rajendra Sharma said.
“A pit was dug parallel to the well and oxygen was supplied through a pipeline to keep the child alive even as district officials, including the district magistrate and a team of doctors and engineers continued to camp at the site to oversee the rescue operations which continued till 1 a.m.,” police said.
“The child was ultimately brought out of the borewell alive at 1 a.m. Wednesday and after a medical check up by doctors he was immediately admitted to the Shajapur hospital. His condition is normal”, Shajapur Superintendent of Police D.P. Singh said.
