New Delhi, Oct 25 (Inditop.com) An NGO head has been booked for allegedly using forged identity cards of various ministries, police said Sunday.
A case was slapped earlier this week against Chaudhary Jamshed Alam who claims to run an NGO named Delhi State Council of International Human Rights Protection Association. Alam came under the scanner of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) when he was found using forged identity cards of Ministries of Social Justice and Empowerment and Food.
Alam is absconding.
The case was booked under Sections 171 (wearing garb or carrying token used by public servant with fraudulent intent) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) at Parliament Street police station.
“We have registered the case and are now looking for him,” a police officer said.
According to police, several other cases have been pending against Alam.
Meanwhile, two cars belonging to Alam have been impounded from the Mavlankar Hall in Delhi where he had gone to launch a newspaper with the name of Antarrashtriya Manav Adhikar Samachar.
“We are keeping a close watch on Alam’s activities in and outside Delhi,” the officer added.
According to police, Alam allegedly used the identity cards of the two ministries and several other high-profile offices to gain entry into their premises where he indulged in “dubious activities”.
