Gangtok, April 7 (Inditop) Five people, including two bureaucrats, were killed when their car plunged into a 200 feet gorge in Sikkim due to heavy fog, police said Tuesday.

Animal husbandry department secretary T.W. Barfungpa, advisor to the state government Tashi Topden, his wife, sister and the driver of the Maruti Esteem car were all killed in the accident that occurred near Ravangla, in east Sikkim, at about 6.30 p.m. Monday.

Superintendent of Police (West District) G.K. Verma said heavy fog had reduced visibility in the area and is believed to be the main reason for the accident.
