New Delhi, April 15 (Inditop.com) K.D. Sharma, who was India’s high commissioner to Pakistan in 1980s, shot himself with his licensed revolver Thursday at his Preet Vihar home in east Delhi, police said.

“We received a call about the incident at 10 a.m.,” a police official said.

Sharma, 79, was the Indian high commissioner to Pakistan during President Zia-ul-Haq’s regime.

A suicide note has been recovered by the police. “The note said he was committing suicide because of his inability to cope with a stomach disease,” the police official added.

Sharma also served as Indian envoy in Mauritius and Spain.
