Ranchi, Jan 12 (Inditop.com) Three shootings in the new year have panicked residents of steel city Jamshedpur.
On Monday, unidentified people shot Ashish Roy, head of paediatrics at Tata Main Hospital (TMH), Jamshedpur. The criminals barged into his clinic at his house and pumped three bullets into him. He was admitted in the TMH in a critical condition.
On Jan 2, Tusar Bageria, a businessmen dealing in gold, was shot dead and on Jan 5 Indrapal, whose family owns a brick kiln, was killed.
Another doctor, Prabhat Kumar of the TMH, was shot dead Dec 17 last year.
“The successive murders taking place since beginning of the year reflect the ineffectiveness of the Shibu Soren government. Criminals are roaming free without any fear of the police,” Jharkhand Congress unit president Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu told IANS.
The Jharkhand unit of Indian Medical Association (IMA) Tuesday called an emergency meeting to discuss the killing of two doctors in two months.
Police are yet to nab the killers of businessman Ashish Dey, owner of Sreeleather shoes here, who was killed in September 2007.
