New Delhi, Dec 11 (Inditop.com) A man has been arrested here for selling Indian-made alcohol in bottles of high-end premium whisky brands like Chivas Regal and Johnnie Walker, police said Friday.
Jai Prakash was caught from Jehangirpuri A-Block Thursday when he was trying to sell a bottle of fake Chivas Regal for Rs.2,000 to a decoy customer.
“Jai Prakash used to purchase Director Special whisky from Haryana and empty bottles of premium brands from rag pickers. He used to fill the low-quality whisky in the bottles of the premium brands and sell them in the open market and at banquet halls,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest Delhi) N.S. Bundela said.
The police have recovered 48 bottles of premium brands like Chivas Regal, Johnnie Walker Red Label, Johnnie Walker Black Label and Jack Daniels from him. Wrappers, labels, stickers, corks, tags and packing cases of various brands along with a sealing machine and two packing machines were also seized from him.
