New Delhi, Oct 24 (Inditop.com) A day after the molestation of a 22-year-old woman from Arunachal Pradesh in the capital came to light, the Delhi police still has not identified the schoolboys who molested her.
The girl, a student of Jamia Millia Islamia University, was molested by a group of schoolboys inside a government-run school in Bharat Nagar in New Friends Colony of south Delhi Thursday. The complaint was registered Friday.
“We are in the process of identifying those involved in the incident and they will be arrested soon,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Southeast) Virender Singh told Inditop.
According to the complaint registered by the victim, she was going home Thursday afternoon in a cycle rickshaw from university, when some schoolboys passed lewd comments.
When she went inside the school to complain about the incident, she was molested by the boys and was forced to rush out.
“The girl was traumatised and did not complain Thursday. The next she discussed the matter with her friends and the university vice chancellor, who forwarded a complaint to us,” said Singh.
The incident comes days after Delhi Police Commissioner Y.S. Dadwal called for a zero tolerance policy towards any crime against northeastern women in the capital.
Delhi Police has been asked to take prompt and serious action as soon as any complaint related to harassment of northeastern women is reported.
