Rohtak, Sep 15 (Inditop.com) Seven members of a family were Tuesday found dead in their house in Kabulpura village near this Haryana town, police officials said.

The victims, who belonged to the family of a retired teacher, had strangulation marks around their necks, police officials investigating the incident said.

Another victim, who was still alive, was rushed to the Post-Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in state capital Chandigarh in a serious condition.

The bodies of the victims were found by the retired teacher, who lived nearby, when no one came to give him his morning tea. The village is about 20 km from here.

The victims included the teacher’s son, two daughters-in-law and four grandchildren. Another son of the teacher is in the army and was away when the incident occurred.

“We are investigating the matter. We cannot disclose anything more at this stage,” the investigating official said.

Senior district police officials, who arrived in the village, could not be reached for comment.

Rohtak is the home district of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. It is represented in Lok Sabha by his son Deepinder Singh Hooda.
