Lucknow, Feb 6 (Inditop.com) Panic gripped an Uttar Pradesh town when six mutilated and decomposed bodies were found lying near the railway tracks Saturday morning, police said.
The bodies of three men, two women and a girl child were recovered from near the railway tracks of Bankata town in Deoria district, some 300 km from Lucknow.
According to police, prima facie it appears the six were killed and their bodies thrown near the railway tracks to give the impression they had died in an accident.
“Preliminary investigations reveal the bodies were not present yesterday (Friday) at the site they were found today. It implies that someone has dumped the bodies near the railway tracks. We cannot rule out the possibility of some foul play behind the incident,” police inspector Anil Dubey told reporters in Deoria.
“Moreover, all the bodies have been mutilated and are decomposed, suggesting they died a few days ago. We are yet to identify the bodies,” he added.
With the help of the locals, the police are trying to ascertain the identity of the six people.
According to police, of the six – the women and men are aged between 30-40 years, while the girl is aged around 5.
