Agra, Nov 9 (Inditop.com) The city of the Taj Mahal witnessed three murders over love, officials said Monday.

Twenty two-year old Sunita allegedly strangled her husband Ganga Saran, 28, on Sunday, with the help of her lover Manoj.

In her confessional statement to the police Sunita said: “My husband Ganga, a painter, was always short of money and used to beat me and scold me for being illiterate. This forced me to direct my attention to a friendly neighbour Manoj who was helpful and caring. We hatched a plan to finish off Ganga and later get married in a court. Early Sunday morning Manoj entered my home when my husband was fast asleep. Manoj pressed and strangled him while I held his nose tight to choke him to death.”

In another incident a man named Irshad allegedly killed his wife and his mother-in-law Sunday, suspecting infidelity and their involvement in a sex racket.

According to police, Irshad said in his statement that the murders were inspired by a gnawing feeling of hurt and revenge after he saw his wife with a man in a car. “I had repeatedly told both the women to mend their ways but they paid no heed and were involved in sexual activities.”

Police said Irshad, 27, used a grinding stone at home to first kill his mother-in-law Saida and later his wife Saira. Later he took both his kids Sahil, 6, and Khushi, 4, with him to surrender at the police station.

Irshad works as a driver for a travel agency in Agra.
