Chandigarh, Dec 12 (Inditop.com) A criminal known as ‘Whisky’, who was once linked to terrorist groups in Punjab, has been arrested in the state’s Khanna town. A court Saturday remanded him to police custody for six days.

The Chandigarh Police had arrested Davinder Singh alias Whisky from Khanna town Friday evening after tracking him for nearly two weeks.

Whisky had last month murdered a financier inside his office in a busy Chandigarh market.

“Many cases ranging from murder, attempt to murder, kidnapping and cheating are pending against Whisky in various police stations of Punjab and Chandigarh,” a police officer said.

“He played a major role in supporting terrorism in Punjab. We suspect he still has links with similar outfits of other states. He is a notorious criminal and had lived at various places with forged identities. We hope to solve many pending cases after interrogating him,” the officer added.

Chandigarh Police had announced a cash reward of Rs. 50,000 for anybody providing information about Whisky’s whereabouts.
