New Delhi, June 22 (Inditop.com) The Supreme Court Monday asked the central government to list the steps taken to ensure the safety and security of Indians abroad after reports of alleged racial attacks on students studying in Australia.

A vacation bench of Justice Dalveer Bhandari and Justice Asok Kumar Ganguly asked the government to file a reply by June 26. The court passed the order on a public interest petition filed by advocate D.K. Garg.

The Supreme Court also asked the solicitor general to assist the government in the case. The case has been posted for hearing on June 29.

On Sunday, Australia’s immigration authority called the attacks as “unacceptable” and assured full safety to Indian students. There are nearly 93,000 Indians studying in Australia
