New Delhi, Oct 22 (IANS) Delhi University has launched a project in which members of deprived communities around the varsity will be provided with lifelong skill building training, a statement said Tuesday.

Vistaar, initiated by the department of adult continuing education and extension (DACEE), has adopted 10 communities.
“Vistaar will reach out to the deprived communities like marginalised women, sex workers, transgender population, drug users, elder population and out of the school youth,” said DACEE head Rajesh.
The project will provide lifelong learning opportunities for the people of these communities using outreach activities, information and communication technology and research.
The students, researchers and teachers of the varsity will impart this training to the people to inculcate values and a sense of social responsibility amongst DU students.
“This will also bring linkage with government programmes, NGOs and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme of corporates in empowering the community at large,” added Rajesh.
