New Dehi, Sep 8 (IANS) The foundation courses in Delhi University, introduced in the face of stiff opposition, have received criticism from different quarters. On Sunday, the university launched a blog to aid teachers in conducting these courses.

“The teachers thought it would be a good idea to have access to a blog as a common discussion forum on the four-year undergraduate course website, for sharing and building additional electronic materials for the classroom,” said M. Madhusudhan, deputy dean, academics — and also the webmaster of the new blog.
Foundation courses are compulsory courses that the students of Delhi University enrolled for the four-year undergraduate programme that started this academic session must study.
The blog, especially meant for the English foundation course, is titled, “Language, literature, creativity-II (English).”
The blog was started after the Special Orientation Modules for the Foundation Courses were conducted by the varsity. While studying the module, teachers raised issues that the blog hopes to address, Madhusudhan said.
“The blog gives space for sharing ideas, news and experiences. It also acts as a forum for building additional electronic resources for the use of students and faculty engaging with the course,” the blog’s introduction reads.
Along with it, a separate section for the four-year undergraduate course is also provided on the official website of Delhi University.
