Kolkata, Nov 18 (IANS) The Rabindra Bharati University here ordered a probe Monday after its registrar Subrata Ghosh was caught on tape dancing with his colleagues allegedly during office hours.

“If it happened during office hours, it is certainly undesirable. We will probe the entire matter and take suitable action.
“Only after the probe is over and ascertaining the facts, we will decide what action needs to be taken,” university vice chancellor Sabyasachi Basu Ray Chaudhury said.
In the video leaked to the media, Ghosh is seen dancing around with male and female teachers.
Though Ghosh admitted it was “undesirable” to dance but sought to justify it by saying he did to strengthen solidarity with his juniors and colleagues.
“Some songs create an atmosphere of dance and they (teachers) asked me to join them. We are a part of a team and I thought if it makes them happy, strengthens solidarity, then what’s the harm.
“Though I feel there is no need to find something otherwise in the act, on hindsight, I feel it would have been better had I not danced,” said Ghosh.
The university earlier was caught in a controversy after members of a students’ union were caught on tape dancing vulgarly in an inebriated state inside the union room.
